“If
Taylor Jenkins Reid is to be believed, it doesn't take much love with Daisy
Jones.” The latter is the protagonist of the best-selling novel, now adapted
for television in the new series Daisy Jones & the Six Prime Video. The
show features Riley Keough (of Zola and Presley fame) as singer/songwriter;
lead singer Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin) became an icon when he joined The Six, a
band that narrowly misses their shot at superstardom after getting hitched.
Daisy
and Billy have big, bright, Fleetwood Mac-level dreams, but their chemistry is
as volatile as it is strong, and over the course of the series, Graham (Will
Harrison) and Karen threatens to destroy the balance between team
members. Sookie Waterhouse), Warren (Sebastian Chacon) and Eddie (Josh
Whitehouse), as well as Billy's wife, Camila (Camila Morrone). The tale of
their juicy rise and fall is condensed into one, 10-episode season. Here's how
to adjust the overall absorption time.

How can I read the original book Daisy Jones and the Six?
Regardless of where the show versus the book
argument falls, watching the Daisy Jones adaptation is more enriching when you
encounter the characters in both mediums. Reid's novel is organized as a
fictional oral history of the group, including excerpts from interviews between
Daisy, Billy, Camilla, Karen, Graham, Eddie, Warren and other experts. The book
is a juicy, deep read, but I think it works better as an audiobook: The voice
actors are great, interesting, and the line delivery is a distinct contrast to
the Perdana Video ensemble. Whichever way you choose to treat your aunt, you'll
have a great time.
